Covid Resurgence Support Payment (RSP) – Through IRD
This is a one off payment for eligible businesses and organisations 7 days after the alert level increase - Applications are open from 8am 24 August 2021 – it remains open for one month after all of New Zealand returns to alert level 1. RSP is calculated as $1500.00 base payment plus $400.00 per FULL time employee (over 20 hours), if you are a Sole trader you can receive a payment of $1900.00
The maximum RSP payment is $21,500
You must have experienced a 30% drop in your capital raising ability (the ability to obtain money/funds in order to run your business) – to calculate the affected revenue you will need to calculate your revenue over a continuous 7-day period during the increased alert level and compare against a regular 7 day period during the 6 weeks prior to the increased alert level.
Businesses with low revenue will have their payment capped at four times (4x) the amount their revenue has dropped over the 7-day period. For example, if your business has 3 FTEs, they would be entitled to $2,700. However, if their revenue drop was $500, their RSP payment would be limited to $2,000.

Covid Wage Subsidy – Through MSD
Covid-19 Wages Subsidy applications are open from Friday 20th August 2021 (Applications will be open for two weeks) - you will be able to apply for $600.00 per week per full time employee and $359.00 per week for part-time employee's – the payment per employee will cover a two week period.
Basic criteria is that your business will have had at least a 40% decline in revenue, over the period of the 17th August – 30 August 2021 when compared to a typical 14 day consecutive period of revenue in the six weeks immediately prior to the move to alert level 4 on the 17th August 2021.
You must retain evidence to support the application/declaration.
